Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup lukewarm water
Method
Put all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine well.
|
Gradually pour in the lukewarm water, you will have to use your hands to incorporate the water with the dry ingredients. Knead the dough until nice and smooth.
|
Cover with a damp cloth or paper towel and set aside for a few minutes – like 20 minutes. You can also put the dough (wrapped in plastic wrap) in the fridge and do the following steps the next day.
|
Sprinkle your counter top with a bit of dry flour, roll out the dough, with a rolling pin, into a circular shape.
|
Grease your baking dish with some non stick spray or a bit of butter.
|
Place the rolled out dough in the greased baking dish. Lightly pierce all around the dough with a fork (this is optional). This will prevent the dough from rising too much.
|
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius). Allow dough to bake for 20-25 minutes – until golden brown.
